Outsourcing will kill America
I don’t have a problem with people in third world countries earning a living wage. I have a problem when those people benefit from the loss of American jobs. I have a problem when a third world country’s economy is growing at record pace, thanks to the influx of what used to be American jobs, while Americans are displaced with skills that are no longer relevant to our economy. And no-one cares. Or helps.
I have been outraged for years but I’m only one tiny voice. I do what I can. I was recently asked by a former IT worker, one whose job was outsourced, why the American media didn’t raise an unGodly hell when this started happening. My best guess was that, thanks to de-regulation, media companies had grown into monopolies whose only concern is the bottom line. And journalists worried more about waning circulation figures than they did the erosion of the American middle class. They focused on Britney and Lindsay and Madonna and A-Rod. Who gives a fuck? Now, it’s starting to happen to journalism. And they’re starting to catch on to the danger of this practice that is pursued unchecked. Where are the oversight agencies? I fear it’s too late.
